Zapier integration

Automate certificates across 5,000+ apps

CertSeal on Zapier lets you issue, manage, and track certificates without writing code. Connect your forms, CRM, spreadsheets, and chat tools in minutes.

Triggers

React when something happens in CertSeal

Start a Zap when a recipient opens their certificate — perfect for follow-ups, CRM updates, or team notifications.

Trigger

Certificate Viewed

Fires when someone opens a certificate in the public viewer for the first time. Use it to notify your team, update a CRM, or kick off a follow-up workflow.

Actions

Issue certificates from any Zap

When your trigger fires — a form submission, CRM update, or spreadsheet row — CertSeal creates the certificate and optionally emails it.

Action

Issue Certificate

Creates a recipient in a batch and optionally emails the certificate immediately.

Field Required Notes
Batch Yes The batch to issue into — must already exist in your workspace
Recipient Name Yes Printed on the certificate
Recipient Email Yes Where the certificate is sent when Send is enabled
Send Yes Whether to queue the certificate email immediately
Custom Data No Key/value fields interpolated into the design (e.g. course, score)

Example workflows

Popular ways teams use CertSeal + Zapier

Form completion → certificate

When someone submits a Typeform, Google Form, or Jotform, Zapier issues a certificate and emails it automatically.

Certificate viewed → notification

When a recipient opens their certificate, post a message to Slack, add a CRM note, or trigger a follow-up email sequence.

CRM row added → certificate

When a deal closes or a course is marked complete in HubSpot or Salesforce, issue the credential without manual steps.

Get started

Set up in three steps

You need a CertSeal account and an API key. The rest is point-and-click in Zapier.

  1. 01

    Create an API key

In CertSeal, open API Keys and create a key for your workspace. Copy it — it is shown only once.

  2. 02

    Connect CertSeal in Zapier

Search for CertSeal on Zapier and paste your API key when prompted. Zapier verifies the connection and labels your workspace.

  3. 03

Pick a batch and map fields

Choose the batch that holds your design, then map trigger data to recipient name, email, and any custom template fields.

FAQ

Zapier integration questions

Do I need a CertSeal API key to use Zapier?
Yes. Zapier authenticates with a workspace API key created from the API Keys page in the CertSeal app. Each Zap uses that key to issue certificates and receive trigger events.
Which batches appear in the Issue Certificate action?
Zapier lists active batches from the workspace tied to your API key. Create the batch and design in CertSeal first, then select it when configuring the Zap.
What does the Send field do?
When Send is true, CertSeal queues the certificate email immediately after issuance. The batch must have an email template configured. Set Send to false if you only want to create the certificate without emailing.
How is Certificate Viewed different from webhooks?
Both fire on the same event. Zapier's trigger is the no-code option; the REST API webhooks are for custom backends that need signed payloads and full recipient data.
